Coldplay - The Scientist (Inspiration)

We were inspired by this video and the premise of it; the way that the director has filmed this is so creative, we wanted to try and capture a part of it in our own video.
The way that the vocalist was filmed originally intrigued us, and we looked into how the effect of everything moving in reverse was achieved. We found that he learnt the lyrics to the song backwards, and it was filmed backwards too, then reverse in post-production, created the effect.
This is however a difficult technique to achieve, so we are planning to 'cheat' a little. In our video, when the vocalist's mouth can be seen singing/lip-syncing, we will film it as normal but direct our actor to simply mimic the effect and move backwards. Any shots without the mouth being visible we will mimic the Coldplay video and reverse the footage in post-production.
